WHAT IS 2ND HOME

THE CONCEPT

The concept is "a home" in India for an artistic creation and dialogue. a place where local and foreign artists of different backgrounds live together, effect each other and be affected, create together or respond to other's creations, a gathering of a creative spirit.



Our cast is assembled of diverse women, representing 5 countries  (Israel, Denmark, USA, Poland, Canada) and different performative and artistic fields (music, dance, theater,  video art and more). During a 2 month period, we will create a performance piece to be performed for children in schools, and open shows for all audiences around India. We will be on a weekly schedule including daily classes taught by the participants themselves- each on their own expertise, and Indian art, dance and music workshops taught by local indian guest teachers. We will enjoy a system of classes that will support the creation process directly and indirectly.



The last month of the project will be invested in a performance tour and workshops around India. We will  offer a taste of this cultural merge of west and east, known and unknown .

​Due to the latest events in India we were confronting a sad and disturbing reality of violence toward women and the government and justice system looking away. As an all-women international cast, we will express our opinions through our creative work and journey, and strive to bring hope, empowerment and awareness to the women struggle, in India and in general.

 



 

 

​2nd Home India is a non-profit artistic creation project, taking place in north of

India in summer 2013, managed by Israeli choreographer and dancer Shaked Dagan.

It offers a unique opportunity for artists

from different nationalities and disciplines

to work together in a joined goal of

co-creation, enriching each others perspectives, and contributing to the Indian community.
